David Scott Nelson was born and raised in Fowlerville, Michigan, just off Crandall Rd. When he was only nine years old, David had his first mechanical project: fixing his broken bicycle. He had no other choice; his family could not afford to buy him a new one. But what started out as necessity quickly became a passion.
By age 12, David was working for White Barn Auto Body, where he stayed until graduating high school. He then spent more than five years at Mitchel Stackler Chevy Olds, managing the office and painting cars.
On November 12, 1988, David opened Nelson’s Collision in Fowlerville.
